One a penny, two a penny

Hot cross buns!

I love hot cross buns!

This year, for the first time, I took the plunge and baked my own:

Monster dough - I'd say that's doubled in size!

Crosses on and ready for the oven. (Is there anything that smells better that hot cross buns in the oven?)

Taadaa - success!!!

The recipe comes from the Essential Baking Cookbook (naturally), and it turned out brilliantly, although I think I would add a pinch of salt next time, and I found the sugar glaze bit too sticky.

Mmmm de-lish!!!
