ReplyDeleteNice purchase! I've never made anything like that. Ok, I made semi-freddo once but it's not the same.
I have this el-cheapo ice-cream machine which cost like $30 and it has paid for itself over and over again. Always pined for one for my old love the Kitchenaid...you'll have so much fun. Here's a recipe for a super-quick vanilla (not as nice as the proper one with the bean and stuff), but it's great for last minute: 300ml milk, 250ml cream, 1/2 cup c.sugar, pinch salt & 1/2 tea vanilla essence - combine and create!

ReplyDeleteMy idea of fancy icecream though is a tub of Weiss mango and cream. Oh, and I helped Patricia once with making cassata. As in, I watched her make it and I made her coffee.
So I can't help you there on the recipes!
