adventing

Did anyone else make it to the Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar?
We had such a nice time!
We tried Finnish sima, and ate the most divine danish wienerbrod I have tasted outside of Denmark.

And, of course, there was some shopping too!
Including this beautiful advent calendar:

This is the exact kind of calendar we used to have when we were kid! All glittery and wintery and Christmassy - and not a cheap dodgy square of chocolate in sight!

I have been looking for a real advent calendar like this for years - the lady selling them at the bizaar imports them from Germany, and she had so many gorgeous ones it was practically impossible to choose!

Can you see today's window, all ready for opening?

I'll let you know what I find in there =)

  1. I remember the advent calendars my sister and I used to have when we were young - but they were the kind with chocolate in. I was possibly the most skilled child anywhere at making the little doors look unopened when in fact I'd already opened some ahead of time to eat the chocolate! :D

  2. Oh that avent calender is just like the one we used to have too! I agree - much better without the tacky chocolates.
