This morning, whilst watching the Time Team guys on the search for Liberty's first factory (it was very cool, especially the bit where they were block printing by hand - just amazing), I finished up my brooch from yesterday's Brown Owls meeting:
I used this tutorial, and am pretty pleased with how it turned out - although I was a bit disappointed that it looks so flat.
In any case, I'm sure it will get loads of wear over the winter - a new brown and gold accessory is just what I need in time for the footy season to start this week! ;o)

The brooch is gorgeous! I love the yellow and brown. I'll have to check out the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and autumnal. And I love Time Team in general, and that episode in particular!!
ReplyDeleteI remember that TimeTeam episode well, it was a fabulous one. Your brooch is so cute!! Have you thought about running a little gathering stitch down the back of the petals to give them a curve and make them less flat??
ReplyDeleteI love your brooch so much!
ReplyDeleteI think the one in the tutorial is higher because the felt is thicker (it's felted sweater). But I think yours is bloody awesome.
Love it! and I want to make lots of brooches.
