I feel like 2012 was a bit of a bust craft-wise for me. I did a few things here and there, and enjoyed having a quick go at bits and pieces with my Brown Owls friends, but nothing really stuck (with the exception of hexy fever, which continues, but remains unfinished!).
I do however have a couple of projects to share that were finished either on our holiday or since then.
We had two new babies to visit in Denmark - a boy and a girl, and I made each a baby quilt as a present. I cut it pretty fine - sewing on the binding in the days before we left, and then embrodering their names once we arrived. Both were made mostly from a Riley Blake fat quarter bundle called Saddle Up, with a few extras thrown in.
For Miss J's quilt, I made 9-patch blocks then quartered and rearranged with a spotty border.
And little S's quilt - charm squares with solid borders (and more spots!)
Too cute, non?
For a less adorable model, I also finished my honey cowl.
I worked on it in the car on the trip to Copenhagen (& Malmo), and on the train to Cardiff, and finished it somewhere between Cardiff and York (it could have been anywhere - it was a very long day!) It was just in time too - it got chilly quickly =)
This is us in York - just outside Jamie's Italian, which was a delicious end to one of the most fabulous days ever =)
The pattern is available for free on the Madelinetosh website, and the yarn is BC Garn's gorgeous Semilla, from Suzy Hausfrau.
And one last finished crafty project - a Christmas stocking for baby Will
This is my third stocking - I made one last year, and one in 2008. I am a bit in love with that fabric on the back - dancing penguins! - and with the stripey lining =)
And that pretty much wraps up crafty 2012 =)
I have some exciting plans for 2013 - some stitchy bits and loads more papery fun (i do so love my martha punches, and growing stash of washi tape).
I hope everyone has a fabulous and safe start to the New Year, and lots of fun in 2013!

2012 was so NOT a bust crafting wise! You made some beautiful quilts! And decorated for the winter jam swap. And I'm sure there was a baby shower in there somewhere too? Not to mention all that lovely papery goodness you've been elbow deep in.
ReplyDeleteAnd the hexies. Good to know there are some healthy addictions out there.
Have a splendid 2013, my favourite crafting buddy. Here's to lots of craft and lots of FUN!

Happy new year my dear! Looking forward to lots of crafty catch ups with you in 2013! Hooray for the honey cowl, yours looks awesome. I'm making my third now, not that I'm obsessed or anything. :) xxx
