time

Well, here I am at home in front of the tv with my foot up again.
Instead of feeling like I can't do anything I am trying to take advantage of the oppurtunity this Friday to be grateful that, thanks to my ankle, I am getting some time to myself.

Today I'm using this time to start planning some Christmas baking (I blame the advent calendar!!! The week before that I was switching off the Christmas carols at Big W - carols at the start of November???!)
I've always enjoyed the baking that inevitably comes with Christmas, even more so since I experienced my first Danish Christmas in 1999.
Its like it's the one time of year where I can do something that makes me feel really close to Denmark, and something I can share with my family.

I'm hoping to get the Christmas pudding under way tomorrow, and part of my planning today has also been a bit of internet shopping - I've ordered an aebleskiver pan!

Ever since I fell in love with the delicious aebleskiver in Denmark I have always kept an eye out for an aebleskiver pan when visiting speciality cookware shops, but have never seen one.

Today I decided I had to have one.

The are apparently relatively easy to come by in America - I even saw one advertised at the Target website, but I couldn't find any stockists in Australia (or even anyone who had heard of aebleskiver) or any American sites which would ship to Australia, except for pans.com.

My aebleskiver pan should be shipped today, and hopefully by about 2 weeks from now I'll be eating aebleskiver! =)

Very excited. =)

besos =)

  2. yeah for aebeliskivers! They have been an Artisan family tradition on Christmas Eve for years! We always put a dollop of homemade applesauce in the center of them. :) Enjoy it!
