We've now safely arrived in Cardiff (despite some flood related delays!) but I wanted to share some pics of beautiful Copenhagen.
On Monday we visited Tivoli with one of my dear school friends and her baby.
They have just opened for Christmas, and it was really quite magical - you walk through the gates and there is a little forrest of Christmas trees with snow, and they have little heaters on burning something that makes it smell like pine, and there are tiny huts with smoke coming out their chimneys, and real live reindeer!
On Tuesday we spent the day in the city on our own before catching the overnight train to Brussels.
We could easily have spent a whole week looking around the city, so there was so much we didn't have time to see, but we did manage to fit in a trip to the Georg Jensen shop and a canal tour starting in Nyhavn =)

Vesterhavet :: danmark

Yesterday we drove to a small holiday town called Søndervig on the west coast of Denmark to check out the North Sea (vesterhavet in Danish).
The sun came out and we saw our first Danish blue sky since the train trip from Copenhagen.

We arrived in Denmark on Friday - about 24 hours after leaving Melbourne.

Here are a couple of photos from when we went out for a walk yesterday.
It was foggy but beautiful - so perfectly autumn, even down to the smell of wood fires burning in the houses

Jagten :: CIFF

Tonight we saw Jagten (the hunt) at the Canberra International Film Festival - it was really intense but so good!

Mads Mikkelsen is always pretty amazing, and I just love Thomas Vinterberg's films.

Only 5 more sleeps until we take off for Denmark!
